Celiac Disease Symptoms - Variety of Symptoms

Celiac Disease is an autoimmune disease that will require the individual to consume a diet that is free from gluten. There are a variety of symptoms that you may experience when you have this disease some are explained in detail below:

Salient Celiac Symptoms: The salient celiac symptoms usually get overlooked by individuals and go undiagnosed. The symptoms that you may experience are nausea, pain in the muscles, loss of weight, headaches, fatigue etc.

Latent Celiac Symptoms: The latent celiac symptoms are those that are not present at all times, sometimes the symptoms come and go. When people have them they usually feel as if they have a particular illness. The symptoms of celiac disease can be numbness in the joints, headaches, fatigue, arthritis, sores in the mouth etc.

Refractory Celiac Symptoms: These symptoms are also sometimes overlooked because the treatment for them is to consume a gluten free diet. Those individuals that suffer from celiac disease are dependent on gluten foods and their body is unable to react to a diet that is gluten free. In order to treat this disease the individual will have to take strong medications and suppressants that will allow their intestinal tract to heal.

Symptoms that Go Misdiagnosed:  There are many symptoms of celiac disease that may go misdiagnosed in certain cases. When you go to the doctor you should explain to them everything so that they can figure out if you are having any celiac disease symptoms. This is a serious disease, and if you feel that you have it then you should consult your doctor as soon as possible. The doctor may prescribe you a gluten free diet so that you can continue to live a healthy and worry free life.

What People Do Not Know: There are many individuals that do not know what celiac disease is and do not know which sorts of symptoms are associated with it. These people tend to go about their daily lives eating regular foods such as sandwiches, cakes, cereal, toast etc and do not know that they are causing a lot of harm to their body. These people should be aware that if they consume too much gluten then it will begin to damage their intestinal lineage and result in celiac disease. After the damage has been done it is quite difficult to fix because after the lining has been damaged then it decreases an individual’s ability to get the nutrients that pass through it, what will happen is that they will begin to pass through the blood and the damaged walls of the intestine.

How to Prevent from Getting Celiac Disease: The best thing for individuals to do is to stay away from those foods and drinks that contain a lot of gluten. The things that they should avoid can be wheat, oats, beer, rye etc. But before you start cutting down your diet it is always wise that you consult your doctor and make sure that you have the disease before taking any extreme measures.
