As if the world has not enough harsh substances, another has been added to the list – gluten allergy. Allergic reactions occur as a means of the body to get rid of a foreign substance, it releases considerable amount of histamines in the effort to overcome the entry of the unknown particle. Other signs of this allergy would be diarrhea or constipation, fluctuating weight and even fatigue. Because the site of the attack is at the digestive system, expect that the person will have erratic bowel movement.
This will later be seen with rapid weight loss or unexplained weight gain. There are more signs of gluten allergy attack but these are the most common. If you suspect you are having one, go to the doctor and reveal the signs that you have observed.
Is It Easy To Detect?
Sadly, gluten allergy can easily be missed simply because almost every food that individuals consume contain gluten with it. After an attack, doctors usually look into the possibility of this allergy as the last resort and some do not even go to such extent.
The best way to rule in/rule out this allergy is to observe your own reaction after eating, list them down and then visit your doctor. You do not have to exhibit all the signs because gluten allergy can hurt you in the long run.
How To Deal With It?
Like in all allergies, gluten allergy can only be avoided if you eliminate gluten from your diet: rye, barley, oats and wheat. These are the most common sources of gluten in the diet, if you remove it from your plate then you will no longer have an attack.
Luckily, there are many gluten-free foods out in the market. This is so because gluten allergy has become a common condition nowadays. Make sure you read a sign that indicate it is gluten-free. Or if you are unsure, better refrain yourself from processed food. Most often, gluten cannot easily be removed from them so when in doubt, just avoid them.
